I am originally from Giessen Germany. I was born, raised, went to school there and graduated! The Army and my husband brought me to the US and it became my second home. I am married to my wonderful husband Justin and am a mother to my biggest blessings, my 6 year old twin daughters Sophia and Isabella.
Growing up, eating healthy and exercise were always top priorities with my parents, I was involved with various sports all thru school until I graduated. I have a deep appreciation of my parents for such a great upbringing and teaching me all they know about food and the importance of taking care of our bodies.
I was a runner and ran a lot of races before I discovered CrossFit. I was introduced to CrossFit through a dear friend of mine after the pregnancy with my twin daughters. I went thru something that most women can relate to. I was always fit and never had a problem with being fit, but after a long 9 month pregnancy and complications while not being to exercise it was really hard for me to get out of the mindset that I won’t be able to get back to where I was and be healthy again.
For the first 2 years after having my girls, I ran, and that is all I did, but something was missing, and I needed to find it. After many talks with my friend who was a CrossFit Gym owner I decided to give it try. Like anybody else I was afraid of the unknown and that stereotypical view of what had been taught to us about lifting weights and cross training. I thought this was impossible to do. I took a leap of faith December 2008 and never looked back, it was a life changing experience and I found that missing link. I found myself on journey I never thought would happen. In September 2010 I had a year off CrossFit, and due to my old gym’s closing I got in touch with Nicole who was about to open Solafide. It has been an amazing chapter in my journey.
I am really passionate about CrossFit and what it can do for the mind the body and soul . Everybody can do Crossfit and Crossfit is for Everybody. I get excited about seeing people doing things they have never envisioned themselves doing. All you have to do is take the first step to start chapter number one in your journey. Getting my Level 1 certification and continuing my CrossFit education is very important to me not just for myself but also so I can be a better coach and broaden my knowledge base to better learn and teach. CrossFit has taught me that nothing is impossible, once you set your mind to it.
