My name is Silvia. I am a wife, a mom of twins, and a photographer by profession.
I am originally from Germany. My husband and the Army brought me to the US.
My upbringing was very active, being involved in different sports. In high school I played soccer and track and field. Although, I continued with only track and field throughout my college years. It taught me about discipline, hard work, and the drive to always work harder than the person next to me. I worked on my weaknesses to become a better athlete. I have always lived by the motto “ hard work pays off.”
Knowledge of sport mechanics is always learning more and educating myself to to have better understanding of each person I coach. Learning never stops. It is limitless, which translated into my CrossFit journey.
My CrossFit journey began in 2006 shortly after I became a mom. I needed something other than being an able avid runner. I was immediately hooked by a new challenge, but also noticed that there was something very different about it. Community! It was competitive but you had an amazing community behind you to push you thru. I grew mentally and physically as person through my journey.
I could also talk nutrition all day. The importance to educate people that everything starts with what you put in your body is the key factor of a healthier you. It is not a diet, it is a lifestyle. I live a very holistic lifestyle and understand what nutrition can do for your all over body and mind wellness. That being said, changing your lifestyle is not just about strict eating, but rather have a healthy relationship with food, and enjoying life. A healthy lifestyle change does not mean restrictions.
