My name is Heather Flynn. With an Army father and two younger military-minded brothers, I found myself performing “PT” from a very early age. I competed in gymnastics, track & field, and cross-country as a teen, fueling my desire and love for participating in endurance activities. That running background motivated me to want to try my hand at not only 10Ks and marathons, but ultras as well. I feel most at home churning out miles on the trails in my New Balance Minimus. I completed the 24 hour “Race Across the Years” in Phoenix and the Old Pueblo 50 Miler in Sonoita Az.
After spending several years in the special education field and having recently moved to Tennessee from the high desert and mountains of Tucson, I stumbled upon CrossFit SolaFide while looking for change that would help to elevate my strength and endurance. I knew a little about CrossFit exercises from friends over the past several years, but it was the spirit of “helping friends excel” and “never giving up” that really helped me to embrace the CrossFit community and way of life. Adding CrossFit to my endurance-training regimen has been nothing short of spectacular and I truly believe it’s made me stronger and less susceptible to injury.
Being the mother to my spunky twelve-year-old daughter Amaya, and wife to my recently retired 23 year Army veteran Patrick has been the most amazing blessing for which anyone could ask. I enjoy spending every waking moment building a lifetime of memories with the both of them. Our favorite pastime right now is traveling throughout Tennessee and neighboring Kentucky, learning as much as we can about our new home.
I love helping people and have a passion for coaching. What could be more fun and rewarding than coaching my CrossFit “family members”, and helping them awaken and strengthen the inner endurance athlete they strive so diligently to let out. I look forward to sharing my experiences, expertise, and knowledge with future CrossFit athletes.
